Has anyone tried self hypnosis to stop smoking?

Published by on August 31, 2010

If you have tried it, how does it work?

Tobacco is more available than heroin and easier to quit. Nicotine is a very powerful addictive drug.

After you quit, you will get cravings for a smoke. This is what you have to defeat, the body’s need for more nicotine. Putting more in your body is not the way to do it. You have to quit, but it is hard. It is very, very hard.

Personally, I don’t think the hypnosis works because you can’t convince your body you don’t crave nicotine.

What you need is something that will help you ward off the cravings.

I found what worked for me was homeopathic remedies that are available at larger health food stores. I tried several until I found one that helped me. It is from a company called Newton Labs. It is a little brown "eye dropper" bottle that you carry around with you. When you get a craving, you put some drops behind your teeth, under your tongue and like magic, the cravings go away. The stuff is called Tobacco Addiction.
It has no taste and is about ten bucks a bottle.

I was a heavy smoker and it took five bottles before I was able to "survive". The secret is to make a commitment.
You have to throw out all your ash trays, all your lighters everything you have that reminds you of smoking.

Once I did that, I was able to quit it for good. Oh, I still get
a craving after a big meal or something, but it is not bad now
and it goes away.

I am so glad I quit. I feel better. I can breathe better. I don’t
smell bad. Quitting is a good thing you can do for yourself.
Do it!

did you try to lose weight with hypnosis?did it work?

i’m quite sceptical about the whole thing, because if it’s so easy and effective why i still see so many fat people around?

dont waste money and time over scams – there is just one way to lose it, and that is to change your lifestyle – eat less exercise more kinda thing – but take your time, you have been over weight all this time, there is no rush to get rid of it to fast – concentrate on the lifestyle change and the weight will take care of itself.

Has anyone had success with laser therapy or hypnosis to quit smoking?

Hypnosis works very well if you wish to quit. It will help you quit not make you quit. It will take several trips to the hypnotist to get it under control.

Is hypnotherapy real or fake?

Published by on August 31, 2010

Has anyone ever benefited from hypnotherapy or any therapy with a clinical psychologist??

It is very real. Its not like movies where the person hypnotyzing can make the person do crazy things. It is a method for the therapist to get into your subconsious to help solve problems that you can’t figure out in your concious state. I have done this a handful of times and it has proven very helpful.

I’ve had 20 years of unsuccessful insight therapy, should I try CBT?

Published by on August 31, 2010

Cognative Beahavioral Therapy has gotten alot of press lately on many fronts, mainly with disorders like OCD. I have struggled with depression, lack of motivation, and low self esteem, alone and with a procession of INSIGHT therapists since a suicide attempt when I was 20. Not much seems to get better, atleast not socially. Should I try a CBT? Has anyone reading this had severe positive life changes as a direct result of this kind of therapy? I keep trying to convince my Mom to see someone about her hoarding. But I can’t escape the ironic sensation that I am really talking to myself. (not a hoarder, just addicted to a lonely artist’s world view). How/Why is it better? Is hypnosis or NLP involved as part of the process?

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in ad-junction to pharmaco-therapy seems to help the basic symptom control in patients with mental illness. However, the success comes from modifying the traditional form of CBT and applying the modifications as a long term therapy to treat varies types of mental illness.
The CBT treatment is very patient centered and the clinician must accept the patients’ goals and also accept the paranoia of the patient. Then this same paranoia should be used to seek the necessary treatment and assess the goals of the treatment. The CBT treatment must help clinicians control the negative emotions of the patient.
An alternative could be Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT)Electroshock therapy has been performed since the 1930s, yet there is still no consensus as to how or why it works in solving depression. The most popular idea is that it changes the central nervous system to change the way it processes electrical impulses. These electrical impulses control emotions in the brain, and once changed, cause different emotions to emerge. Talk to your doctor.
Take care Always…

2 Karen Haigler Weight Loss Positive Changes HypnosisMy name is Karen Haigler, and I live in Hampton, Virginia. I’d tried all kinds of diets, and nothing worked. I’d lose a pound and gain two. I started Positive Changes in December, which as everybody knows is the most difficult month to lose weight. I lost over 10 lbs. during the Christmas holidays and I still went to the parties. I was just amazed. It’s nice to no longer feel like the fat mom sitting in the corner. I’m much happier!
