Hypnosis to lose weight possible cause of nausea?

Published by on September 29, 2010

So I recently got the program "Think and Lose" and really took it to heart. The first time I fell asleep but woke up and began to do it again. The following day I went to breakfast with some friends and took one bite of my breakfast and felt nauseous. The same thing happened all day. After a week I went to the doctor who did blood work and I’m not pregnant so then I began to think that perhaps it’s a command in the program or my mind took it that way. It says to eat half and leave half but honestly I’m not even eating a quarter and I feel nauceous. It could just be a coincidence but I don’t know, anyone had this happen to them? What did you do? How did you reverse it? I know I feel silly asking but it’s real. Too late in the year for the flu huh? I never get nauseous.

I tried the hypnosis for weight loss also and I never experienced nausea. I didn’t listen to tapes though, I saw a therapist. I didn’t experience any weight loss and my original reason for going, help with my love of all things chocolate, was not addressed. A big fat waste of money, but you live and learn. Hope things go better for you. Good luck.

hypnosis to quit smoking?

Published by on September 29, 2010

has anyone tried quitting smoking by using hypnosis. i’ve tried the patch twice and it hasn’t worked permanately. so i’ve decided to give hypnosis a shot, would like to hear some opinions on this. thank you.

Hypnosis is one of many viable options for those interested in quitting smoking.

In fact, a study conducted at the University of Iowa in 1992 found that hypnosis was the MOST effective treatment for smoking cessation as compared to other techniques (patch, gum, etc).

Researchers conducted a meta-analysis, which combines the results of more than 600 studies covering 72,000 people in the U.S. who participated in various cessation techniques. They found that subjects that underwent hypnotism had the highest success rate of quitting.

This is just one of many scientific studies that have been conducted regarding the effectiveness of hypnosis. Thousands of studies can be found on PubMed, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

how to start a career as a hypnotherapist?

Published by on September 29, 2010

Hey..
I’m 18 years old and i recently finished my diploma in hypnotherapy..So now i’m a certified clinical hypnotherapist! I can deal with issues like drug abuse, tobacco, alcohol, stage fear and many more phobias, i also deal with pain and relationship issues.I do crystal healing and reiki as well.. And now i am very keen on starting my own clinic! I think I am qualified enough to even charge them for the treatment i give them..But the big problem is that i dont know how to go about it!
Will i get paid? How to i tell people about it? and i live in bangalore where not every1 is very open about the idea of hypnosis.. Can i get any help please?

You need to get first hand experience. I’m very sorry if you take this the wrong way, but if you think you can deal with all drug abuse or relationship issues with a hypnotherapy diploma then…..well you’ll find out for yourself.

Here’s what you can do…

Treat people for free, let them see your skill, you can make it out that you are doing them a favour but really you are getting experience. Suggest to them that they can tell other people about you and to mention to their friends that you aren’t too expensive but can get the job done really well.

For the next 30 days introduce yourself to absolutely everyone you meet as a hypnotist. Wherever you are in the world, you will get some people who get scared and run away from you like you were the devil. Don’t worry, that’s fine, it might even be a bit fun after a while. But I guarantee that some people will be fascinated and curious. Hypnosis is one of the most fascinating conversational topics. If you’ve got it, use it! And don’t take my word for it, get out there and do it to see for yourself!

You might find yourself being pleasantly surprised with how quickly your abilities are growing as you enrich the lives of people around, bringing good feelings and happiness to others as you make money to support yourself in the future, while getting the experience that will help you integrate your skills deeply…now.

Should astrology truly be thought of as useless even if it had no basis in reality?

Published by on September 29, 2010

Let’s imagine that an unhappy person visits a competent astrologer and tells them about the difficult conditions in their life, their insecurities, and so on. The astrologer looks at their chart, and after a good talk, tells them that they have a great Jupiter placement or something, hidden talent in this area and that area, great abilities in another, and a huge potential for success.

Psychologically speaking, if this unhappy person trusts the astrologer and really believes what they’re saying even if it were nonsense, we may very well start to see the "power of suggestion" in action. It would be like the placebo effect. The person believes they have some talent and that they can be successful, and so they in turn create that talent and success for themselves.

How is this not a positive thing? Of course there are some who would use astrology to hold people back, but I’m really talking about competent astrologers who use astrology to lift people up. Even if astrology did not have any basis in reality, I would imagine that astrology would still be quite a positive thing for many people.

Quote:
"Many hypnotherapists have known about how powerful [the placebo effect] can be and have used the power of suggestion to help people for years. It has just taken the academics a while, to fund, and conduct measurable experiments to prove the validity of these concepts. The overall conclusion is that there is considerable power in suggestion. [...] You can use the power of suggestion to literally change your life for the good."

It seems strange that so many villify something that has a great psychological potential, doesn’t it?

The way I see it is that if that placebo bettered the person’s life in some way, a positive effect was gained that would otherwise not be realized.

Personally, I would rather know the truth of my chart, which is why I chose not to consult other people and chose to learn for myself so I could make my own judgments. That way, whether my judgments were right or wrong, I owned them and they were not from another. This is important to me, but not so much to other people,

If a person trusts another enough and believes what they say enough to encourage them, there is no harm.

I would also like to point out that a talent is a God given (or inborn, if you don’t believe in God) trait; so if the astrologer found that in the chart, and the person was able to find that in themself, it really did exist. A person can be told they have a talent for singing in their chart, they may believe that and really WANT to sing, and even attempt to foster that talent, but anyone who’s ever watched American Idol knows that a lot of people out there THINK they have a talent, but just don’t. A talent is either there or it isn’t, so the astrologer is either wrong or right there.

I know that was just and example and I get your point, though.

For people in despair, any hope given them, even a false one, might be the chance for them to make it through a rough patch until something real comes along. I’m not condoning falsehood or lying to someone, but there are times when God puts those things in the persons path to shed a tiny little beacon.

Hypnotherapy pt 1 of 3

Published by on September 28, 2010

2 Hypnotherapy pt 1 of 3Week 9: Clinical Hypnotherapy pt 1 of 3

In further adaptation to a new fitness lifestyle, I will attempt to demystify Clinical Hypnotherapy, and explain why it can be a very helpful tool. If you are facing an addiction or other obstacle now is the time to take control of it. We begin by understanding our own psychology a little better, and understanding what we need to do to overpower our obstacles.

Why hypnosis? I have a degree in Psychology and am also a certified hypnotist with the Hypnosis Motivation Institute of Tarzana, California, the country’s premier college of clinical Hypnotherapy and Neurolinguistic Programming. I can tell you that there is much to hypnosis the average person doesn’t realize. So it’s important to clear up a few misconceptions about this effective treatment modality.

My goal is to give you the tools you need to take control and make your healthful lifestyle a reality!

For example, the gym is not such a mysterious place any more, is it! You take to it like a fish to water by now, don’t you!

As always I’m available for email queries at atlas33@gmail.com.

Published by on September 28, 2010

2 Dallas Little Positive Changes Weight LossMy name is Dallas Little and I live in Seattle Washington. I am 34 and I am a Sous chef I first heard about Positive Changes on the radio. I was feeling stressed and run down all the time, weighing 430 1bs was taking a toll on me. I was embarrassed; being this big people always looked at me. Having to go on a plane and having to get the seat belt extension was very embarrassing for me. I was the heaviest I have ever been in my life and that is when I came to Positive Changes. When I had my first visit with Positive Changes I set a goal to lose 100 lbs in the first year and the next 100 lbs in the second year. This is something my evaluator and I decided I could accomplish. I have lost 195 1bs in 7 months. It’s only taken me 7 months to accomplish what I thought would take 2 years!! !!! My pant size has gone from a size 54 to a size 34, even my shoe size has gone from a 13 to a 12 and now the 12′s are loose.
