I hate the way I look, and the things I hate the most are the ones which I can’t naturally change. For example, I have low density hair, which makes even a pony tail look ridiculous. I have brown eyes, which I don’t like (brown is too common, and guys especially seem to prefer green or blue eyes). My eyes look boring, and there’s something about their shape I don’t like :/
I also have perpetual dark circles under my eyes. No matter how much/little I sleep, if I eat healthily, if I exercise, NO MATTER WHAT, the circles are still there! I have no allergies, nothing, I think it’s genetic :/
I think, in general, that my face looks manly. I just look at myself in the mirror, and see other girls, and I just feel like I don’t look like them.
About my body: I hate having A cup boobs, and huge thighs. I’m not overweight, but my thighs are still huge, to make things worse I have cellulite all over my thighs and butt, no matter how much I work out or anything. I feel too ugly. I know there are bigger problems in life, but I’ve been called ugly too many times to count, and it left emotional scars. I just want to know what being irresistibly beautiful feels like. To actually be confident that I look good no matter what. I know it’s a stupid wish. But being ugly really makes me suffer. I have a boyfriend, but he also doesn’t think I’m the prettiest. I know some girls who’re so pretty, but are b****es, yet they get all the attention, friends, etc., and people often "forgive" their dumbness or cruelty just because they’re "hot".
I know there’s nothing I can do about this. I can’t reshape my face, or permanently change my eye color, I won’t get implants, and I can’t change my bone structure, same with my hair, I hate the idea of being fake so extensions are out of the question.
All that is left is to accept it. I don’t know how, though. I try positive thinking, but it doesn’t work. Does something like hypnosis work for stuff like this? I don’t mind deluding myself into believing I’m the most beautiful woman on Earth when I’m not, I just want to stop hating what I see in the mirror, envying every gorgeous girl I see. I know it’s the inside that matters, blah, blah, I have a great "inside", but people still put a lot of value on the outside. I’m only 22, so DECADES will have to go on before beauty really becomes irrelevant. So what if I’m smart or kind? It hasn’t led me too far. Sure it has helped academically, but not on social aspects. And no I’m not shy or mean. Like I said before, beauty queens get better treatment, regardless of personality or intelligence.
You are right. There are plenty of studies out there supporting the theory that attractive people get better treatment. You can’t change that.
You aren’t willing to take extreme steps to change your physical appearance. So you can’t change that.
Yet you are fixated on what you can’t change. Why?
Rich people get better treatment. Really outgoing and warm people have this empathetic glow and they get better treatment. Funny people make people laugh and get better treatment.
Why are you so fixated on what is superficial? You can have a wonderful, exciting life! You could learn how to fly a plane! You could be the world’s greatest chef….greatest writer…a published author. You can find 100 fabulous friends who love you! Or you could sit around and gripe about what you DON’T have. It is up to you.
. It is your life and you have one shot at it. So choose what you will pay attention to…..where attention goes energy flows! Is your glass half full or half empty?
I have bought a self help book by Paul McKenna to make me a happier person. It really is making a massive difference as it reprogrammes the subconscious to have positive thoughts. The only problem is that I feel really light headed because of it. I also feel kind of sick in my stomach. I am just wondering if this is normal? as I probably should expect side effects if i am trying to change my brain chemistry?I don’t want to stop following the book and hypnosis because i think it really is making me a better person. Any advice? anyone experience these things before?
Hi there, sorry to hear that you are experiencing these difficulties. While Hypnotism can cause headaches and other symptoms in extreme circumstances, it is somewhat unlikely that this is the case with one of Paul Mckenna’s books. Headaches can only usually occur if the subject is being given commands very frequently that require them to do very contrasting activities. (such as many repetitive commands to ‘sleep’ and ‘wake up’ It is certainly sound advice to seek a doctors opinion on the cause of the headaches, and you should most likely mention that you believe that the cause of the problem is the self help book. Im glad to hear that you feel hypnotism is helping you though…It really is a wonderful tool. Best wishes

Change is hard for anyone especially when its for the better. I am on a journey, that I absolutely can’t turn back from; my life depends on it. I am 22 years old, and I am drastically overweight. Which is not shocking considering that 2/3 of Americans are overweight. Since i made the choice to get myself into this situation; I’m making the choice to remove myself from this situation. I have too many issues that need to be dealt with from the inside out. I can not continue to place blame on others for the way I am. I must and I am going to take full accountability for my actions. My goals are to workout five times a week, to go raw for thirty days, to reconnect with God, and maintain only positive healthy thoughts. I am not expecting support from my family, since i feel that the majority of them are extremely negative. I will only tell people who i feel i can trust and that are non-judging and concerned. Like I said earlier i have various issues from emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual that needs to be dealt with. this is definitely going to a challenge, but I’m all out of options and almost time.
Self help CDs take 30 + days and beyond to reprogram the subconscious mind to respond to what it is in the program.Yes hypnosis works.
