Diplomas are not proof, only official school transcripts with degrees posted.

There may not be a state board of hypnotherapy. But you can call the american board of physcians and check the name on the certificate. you can do this for insurance persons, doctors, lawyers, and much more and check the names on the board. Check on the internet first. Go the state and then check for the name of the person. The degree you are looking at may simply be a school and only legal in its own value no more. lol

First of all, you don't do credentialing checks on your employees at your job? In the clinical field? What a lawsuit!! You should have been on the phone calling the school instead of on yahoo asking what to do? No wonder you were played.

Contact the school and send them a copy of the diploma if possible…

It should take about 5 min’s to get a "yes or no" out of them.
