Has anyone used meditation,self-hypnosis,or affirmations to create positive change? What is a good method?

I have been to cognitive therapy in conjunction with being on medications for a limited amount of time. Now I study Buddhism and there is definitely lots of positive affirmations there. I found that it is essential to have a positive belief in your ability to apply the method used and foresee yourself as the way you want to be, visualize the outcome during meditation and carry that with you through the day. Do it every day if you expect to see results, effort must be applied, nothing comes automatically. (except delusions)
